I picked myself up off the ground,
dusted the dirt off all my clothes.
I fell so hard it left me lying there
in such a slow repose,
I guess that's just how it goes.
I bit my lip and walked away.
I'll live to love another day.
My mouth was full of words to say
but they meant nothing anyway.
How did I end up this way?
So, I stare myself straight in the mirror and ask, “What am I still doing here?"And he says,
"Don't act so stranded. You always look so awfully abandoned you've got, more love in you than anyone
you'll ever know or ever knew, so just be you."
I took a hike into the wild and cleared my head with mountain air,
If I can make it to the top then I can make it anywhere.
But does anyone else care?
I shake the weakness from my chest and look around at what I see, There’s nothing out here but the whole entire world in front of me.
And now I see, this is how it will always be.
So, I stare myself straight in the mirror and ask, “What am I still doing here?"And he says,
"Don't act so stranded. You always look so awfully abandoned you've got, more love in you than anyone
you'll ever know or ever knew, so just be you."
And if you still feel all alone,
Wrapped up in bed and stuck at home,
You might as well pick up the phone.
A million people on the line,
And they’ll all say you'll be just fine.
You have to stop and take the time to know yourself
and stop pretending to be somebody else.
